CHEESE CURD-STUFFED PRETZELS Thursday, April 25, 2013
(Because today is Nation Pretzel Day ((yes, it’s a thing))).
A long time ago, the men—and it was only men in those days—used to trick those of us bellied up to their bars into getting blotto.
How? By giving us free food. Pretzels, to be exact. And peanuts, too. Basically, anything that was hard, crunchy and salty enough to trick our mouths into tricking our brains into tricking us into ordering another round. And then another. And another.
And that is how this country was built.
Well, you don’t need to be a logger, a mason of a layer of railroad tracks to enjoy a pretzels at the old OG.
And ours won’t trick you, but if you’re a little hungry, it’ll do the trick.
That’s because they’re soft, not crunchy. And they’re stuffed. With cheese. With cheese curds.
Dip ’em in our housemade Honey Mustard Dip or our homemade Tomato Bacon Ketchup.
Pair yours with a pint or two.
