La Revolution Thursday, December 05, 2013
It’ll be served on ice, in a tall glass.
Our newest seasonal cocktail—named for the revolt that brought us “liberté, égalité et fraternité”—made with local gin, lemon juice and splashes of Creole Bitters, Saint Germain and our lemongrassy Cranberry-Pomegranate Syrup, tastes like a lazy day on a warm beachy island.
Which makes it a great to drink in December.
But seeing that the 21st Amendment was ratified 80 years ago today on this very day—which in turn invited our nation of “drunkards, scofflaws and hypocrites” to get our swerves back on—why not order a tall, cool glass of Revolution and raise your glass to the idea of putting to bed bad ideas.
So good night 18th Amendment. Good night and good riddance. And, of course, ¡Viva La Revolution!
