A streetcar, though? A Streetcar can move a city. Trust. We oughtta know.
So if you live in, or are coming to, Portland, and you’re thirsty for a drink, why would you settle for a Sidecar (which these days has devolved into a watered-down brandy sour) when you could have a Streetcar instead?
Thing is, our PDX Streetcar is like a Sidecar, except we skip the brandy and doll it up with whiskey instead—Big Bottom Whiskey, in all its 91 glorious proofs—distilled in Kentucky, then stored and aged for three years in port casks in nearby Hillsboro.
Add a lemon squeeze, several dashes of Combier Triple Sec, serve up in a stinger with a sweet ginger rim and garish with skewered slice of candied ginger, and you’ve got something that runs on time, all the time.
But with its lemon tang and whiskey-ginger sting, you’ve got something worth skipping the train for, too.
