ORIGINAL EVENTS: HOT DOG BEER DINNER

ORIGINAL EVENTS: HOT DOG BEER DINNER Thursday, July 28, 2011

In celebration of Oregon’s Craft Beer Month, The Original is wrapping up July by pairing together two things all Portlanders love and can’t live without: hot dogs and beer.

On Friday, July 29, at 7pm, we’re serving up the first of four inventive, hot dog-inspired courses on our second-floor mezzanine. Each course will be specially paired with a delicious beer from Fort George Brewery, which has, since 2007, been proudly brewing microbrews for the citizens of Astoria.

The first course? Hot Dog Shish Kabobs, with ratatouille and panzanella, which we’re following with a main course of Knackwurst and Bierocks, served with braised cabbage.

Then, a second main course of BBQ Brisket Corn Dogs, served with fried macaroni ‘n’ cheese will precede a final dessert course of Maple Bacon Hot Dogs, served with fig and ricotta crepes.

The beers we’ve chosen include Fort George’s Sunrise Oatmeal Pale Ale, their Spruce Budd Ale, their imperial double Resistance IPA and their Working Girl Coffee Porter.

And If you want to try yet another, we’re also currently pulling drafts of their Bourbon Barrel Cavatica Stout at the bar downstairs.

And the whole shebang will run you a mere $50 per head.
