ORIGINAL EVENTS: NOTORIOUS NOEL Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Oh Santa, symbol (for some) of holiday cheer: you spy on us all year long and you sometimes kiss our mommies when our daddies aren’t around.

Lucky for us, there’s still plenty of holiday cheer to be had in this city, as long as we steer clear of the spectacle of drunken Santas who are soon to converge on downtown for a day of drinking, caroling and carousing (unless, of course, you’re into that).

But if you’re in the market for something a little more wholesome this holiday season, why not join us for Notorious Noel?

For the third consecutive year, we are proud to present this annual, beloved and well-attended variety drag show put on by one of this city’s favorite queens, Poison Waters, who doesn’t really care whether or not you’ve been naughty or nice. Well, she might like it more if we were all just at least a little naughty at least sometimes.

This year’s program, Thrice is Nice, includes some familiar amenities featured from past shows, such as rounds of caroling, underwear modeling, housemade commemorative cocktails and plenty of food on which to nosh.

And like in years past, proceeds from this event will be donated to Basic Rights Oregon, which aims to end discrimination against the LGBT community.

This year, though, features something a little different, as local blogger and internet television star Byron Beck will be filming the entire event for his online web show, Have You Heard?

So grab a cocktail, pull up a seat (or sit on Santa’s lap), sing your heart out and start your holiday with some wholesome blue cheer, because, as you’ll soon see, the third time is a charm.

Tickets are $15. Doors open at 6pm, Monday, December 5 at The Original.
