ORIGINAL STARTERS: THE TRAINWRECK

ORIGINAL STARTERS: THE TRAINWRECK Thursday, November 08, 2012

A Trainwreck, according to the old OED, is “a chaotic or disastrous situation that holds a peculiar fascination for observers.”

In other words, it’s something you can’t unsee, but that you nonetheless can’t stop looking at. Like a centaur. With two heads.

Our Trainwreck is a lot more like that than you might think. It’s a pile-up, a shambles of gravy, starches, cheeses and meats all smashed together. It’s what happens when a plate of our much-beloved Chili Cheese Fries crashes head-on into a plate of our irresistible Poutine.

So yes: That picture to your left? It may not indicate it, but there are French fries hidden beneath all of that cheese, gravy and meat.

And if you’ve ever stumbled into our digs anytime after 2am, you’re probably already familiar with this plate of Frankenfries. But, you don’t have to be a late-nite reveler to dip your paws into this finger-licking plate of everything-you’ve-ever-wanted-all-rolled-together-in-one, because, as of now, it’s one of our new Starter Apps, meaning you can enjoy it before your supper comes to your table.

Or, if you’re brave (and perhaps a little mad), you can enjoy this kitchen-sinkiest of all Original dishes as your supper. Just don’t be surprised if this starter winds up being your finisher, as well (meaning it won’t kill you, but it might put you to sleep).

Dig in, Portland!
